Ep 27: What Happens When We Complain About Our Clients

Our episode opens with Jenna apologizing for being late in the dropping of the show due to a challenging week that included her son's head injury and husband being away. It is an excellent reminder that we never truly know what someone else is going through.

That said, it is incredibly easy to slip into the habit of complaining and critiquing others without really thinking about the impact of such actions.

In this episode, we are discussing the importance of being mindful and conscious about complaining and critique towards clients. Critique and gossip often stem from feelings of insecurity, inadequacy, frustration, or feeling threatened. As we discuss in this episode, criticism can reflect impatience, intolerance, and fear, leading to a culture of mistrust and personal attacks in any community.

It is easy for us to fall into the trap of criticizing others without realizing the harm it can cause. We must be mindful of the difference between constructive criticism and just criticizing to criticize.

Constructive criticism aims to help the person being critiqued improve and grow, while mindless negative criticism serves no purpose other than to tear someone down. We must be conscious of our words and our intentions and aim to always provide constructive criticism, never destructive criticism.
